The 1394-AM50 is an axis module used to implement single or multi-axis control of servo motors. This axis module features a slide and lock mechanism for simplified attached to the corresponding system module.

An axis module cannot operate as a stand-alone device. It must be attached adjacent to a system module. Whether single axis or multi-axis modules are being used, a terminating resistor must be installed to the last module to close the bus connection.

When mounting a 1394-AM50 through the back of the enclosure with the heat sink, the paper backing that comes with the gasket must be removed. This is true also for 1394-AM75. The gasket must be oriented to make the sticky side facing the axis module and the hole side on top. Slide the gasket over the heat sink up to the back of the axis module.

The mounting fastener of the axis module must hang on the next mounting fastener then engage the alignment tab. Slide the lock mechanism of the axis module to the left to the lock the device with the adjacent module. If another axis module is going to be installed, proceed with the same step otherwise, install all fasteners of all modules and attach the terminator to the last axis module.
