The Modicon analog input module AS BADU 206 is manufactured by Schneider Electric for use on an A120 subrack. It is a four-channel module for analog input with opto-isolation. The job of the AS BADU 206 analog input unit is dual slope integrating as well as A/D conversions. This unit is charged with receiving analog input signals and converting them into digital values. It performs this based on the method of successive approximation. The Schneider Electric AS BADU 206 analog input module will only operate properly when used with an A984, E984, or Micro 512/612 controller.
The Modicon AS BADU 206 input module uses jumpers for voltage and current input selection. The range values are set in the software.
The AS BADU 206 operates off 5 V supply voltage. The 5 V supply voltage is provided internally over the I/O bus. It also works using an external power source that is supplied by the user. The user-supplied external power source should be 24 VDC.
The resolution for the Modicon analog input module AS BADU 206 is 11 Bit + sign or 12 Bit. The resolution will vary depending on the input range selected.
Selectable through software is the indicator for out-of-range status. The out of ranges are determined by the PLC.
