The IC697BEM763 module is an interface module manufactured by GE Fanuc. It is an industrial automation device and is used with the GE Series 90-70 PLCs and VME racks. It is a programmable controller device that comes with a single-slot module and provides an enhanced interface between local area networks and the PLC system. The module allows DC300, AC2000, and DC2000 drives to be configured and controlled by the PLC application program. This interface module is equipped with an 80C186 microprocessor with a clocked speed of 12 Mhz. The IC697BEM763 module uses 3 status LEDs for different events. The "Module OK LED" shows the present operating status of the interface module. This LED indicator flashes during the diagnostics process. The other LEDs are the "Command Out LED", and the "Data In LED." The "Command Out LED" illuminates during the self-test process and flashes when a command from the PLC is sent to a network drop. The "Data In LED" blinks when a data message is received from the network drop.
The GE Fanuc Series 90-70 IC697BEM763 module fully complies with the FCC and the VME standards. The operating temperature of the module ranges between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius with non-condensing 5 to 95% ambient relative humidity. The IC697BEM763 module comes with a restart button that will halt the DLAN communication and perform internal tests on the module. The 8-pin DLAN network connector in the module provides a connection from the DLAN module to the network. The IC697BEM763 module supports both DLAN and DLAN+ network protocols. The DLAN protocol is a multidrop serial protocol whereas the DLAN+ protocol is a high-speed protocol based on the ARCnet network.
