About  22-COMM-E

The 22-COMM-E is an optional communication adapter that is used for the PowerFlex 4, 40 and 400 adjustable frequency drives. This communication module enables the drive to connect to Ethernet I/P network, supporting communication rates such as 10 Mbps Full Duplex, 10 Mbps Half Duplex, 100 Mbps Full Duplex, and 100 Mbps Half Duplex.

With Ethernet communication, the drive may be communicated with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Programmable Automation Controllers (PACs), Programming Workstations installed with DriveExplorer, DriveToolsSP, and Connected Components Workbench (CCW) via the RJ45 communication interface. This same port enables any drive to be connected using Premiere Integration with the use of Studio 5000 Design Environment software.

The 22-COMM-E has met regulatory compliance such as UL UL508C, cUL CAN / CSA C22.2 No. 14-M91, CE EN50178 and EN61800-3, and CTick AS/NZS 2064, Group 1, Class A.

The 22-COMM-E A is compatible with a number of configuration tools. These tools include an external PowerFlex 4-Class, network configuration software such as RSNetWorx for EtherNet/IP, or adjustable frequency AC drive configuration software applications such as DriveExplorer (version 3.01 or higher) or DriveExecutive (version 3.01 or higher). Alternatively, the 22-COMM-E communication adapter may also be used with BOOTP server.

The 22-COMM-E has embedded Web pages that is designed to display sets of information regarding the communication adapter itself, the connected adjustable frequency AC drive, and other DSI connedted DSI devices. The adapter also supports configuration of e-mail messages to specified addresses when selected drive faults occur and/or are cleared, and/or when the adapter takes a communication or idle fault action.

The 22-COMM-E comes with 4 LED indicators that are used to illustrate the status of the Ethernet connection, the DSI functionality and also the adapter functional status. The 22-COMM-E also features a DSI connector. The DSI connector is a 20-pin single-row shrouded male header with an internal interface cable that is connected to the connector.

The 22-COMM-E has an Ethernet port which is an RJ 45 connector. The 22-COMM-E also comes with the operating mode and a web pages switch.
