The / automation 2711P-RW6 is a PanelView plus internal Compact Flash card with 128 MB storage space and a pre-installed with FactoryTalk View Machine Edition software and a Windows CE operating system. The 2711P-RW6 Compact Flash is compatible with PanelView Plus CE that has terminals ranging from 700 to 1500. The Factory View ME program installed on the 2711P-RW6 can be disabled to run at startup or when you need to run another program installed on the Compact Flash (internal or external). The 2711P-RW6 also comes loaded with a PDF viewer for accessing Adobe Acrobat PDF files, WordPad to assist when editing textual content, a shell windows explorer which provides a desktop-like user interface, a program to allow for RDC (Remote Desktop Connection), configuration tools to help in configuring the PanelView Plus, ActiveSync capabilities which allows for the interfacing of PanelView Plus terminal with a personal computer ( the PC must also be installed with the ActiveSync software), and a web browser (Internet Explorer). Programs saved on the 2711P-RW6 Compact Flash card and which the system requires faster access are transferred to the Random Access Memory (RAM) during startup. The ActiveSync software in the 2711P-RW6 provides a path to install more programs on the Compact Flash card.

Note that the 2711P-RW6 Internal Compact Flash Card is the primary storage memory for the PanelView Plus 700 to 500 terminals. Additionally, the flash memory is non-volatile (does not erase content during a power cycle). If the 2711P-RW6 Internal Compact Flash Card does not provide the required storage space, an external Compact Flash card is required. For proper functioning of the 2711P-RW6, as with other Compact Flash Cards, it should be used in certified industrial environments.
